Trevor starts 4th grade today! WOW! Can't believe this is his 5th year in school! He's very excited....a little nervous this morning, but still excited. His teacher this year is Mrs. West. She seems great! We were "asked" to not "accomany" Trevor into the school this year. I told him, it's the first day of school, we want to walk in w/ you just on the first day. This distressed him greatly, so we compromised and agreed that we'd walk a great distance behind him. ;o) (I think he thinks he's the ONLY child in the school that will have parents walking in with him on the first day). I held my end of the agreement. :o)
Cody is starting 1st grade today! He's moving on up! He came out this morning already dressed and ready to go! He is super excited! His teacher is Mrs. Payne....she is brand new this year. She seems great as well. Since today was the first day, we walked Cody to his classroom, but then he will be dropped off at the door. He's wanted to be dropped off at the door since he was in preschool. :o) (Preschool and Kindergarten required students to be walked in by parents).
We are excited for a new school year and the adventures that await us! We trust God is always with us and he never leaves us or forsakes us.
Just a side note, today is also the first day of school for Joplin. Please keep them in your prayers as lots of kids going back to different schools today than they were used to. Many schools were either destroyed or damaged, so lots of interesting manuevering has been done to accomodate the students. Lots of students going back, still healing, both physically and mentally. And, one specific prayer request: Edie Howard lost her husband and two kids in the tornado. Her daughter Harli would have started Kindergarten today. Please remember her today.

Wonderful pictures! Brings back happy memories for me of many exciting, nervous, fun "first days" as a student and as an educator. Trevor, Cody, their parents and teachers, Edi and all the students in the Joplin area are in our prayers. This is a big day! We send our love.....
(Glad to have you back on the blog!) Love, Aunt Linda and Uncle Dale
