Flag Football

Trevor is trying flag football this fall. (wow, that's a mouthfull!) :o) He's not doing too bad, having never played football before. A good chunk of his teammates are "veteran" players. (Flag football in Webb City is open to K- 2nd graders. Each grade is divided into teams and plays their own grade.) We thought Trevor should do football to see if he likes it. Plus, this way, he's played all the basic sports--basketball, baseball, soccer and football--and he can choose which ones he'd like to continue playing. It's been interesting to watch. The practices are basically just a breakdown of basic plays, but in the game, it's really a game of football! I'm just amazed at the fact that these are 7 & 8 year olds and they're running plays like the "big boys". :o) Trevor has a jersey--WC colors, so he looks like "the big boys" too--not that he really cares. :o) We have some really good players on our team--we will definitely be hearing their names in high school! We've only played one game--our second game was rained out. I'm not sure if they keep track of the score, but because of our really good players, we scored a lot! :o) It's a fun experience and certainly a learning experience for us all.
