Wet Fun

We went to Silver Dollar City Saturday with Joe, Christy and their kids and Nana and Aunt Martha Ann. It was a trip we had originally planned to take back in August, but not everyone was able to go then, so we rescheduled it for September. The day began with a little bit of sun, but turned cloudy and rainy. We knew the forecast called for rain, but it was calling for mostly scattered rain. (We packed our Ponchos and dry clothes in anticipation of the wet weather.) It turns out, we were in that scattered region! :o) We drove on and off in sprinkles and it turned to full on rain by the time we hit Branson West--where we all met up. We ate at McDonald's, giving the weather time to "let up" and give ourselves time to decide if we wanted to brave the weather. We decided to head over to SDC and try to do some of the "indoor" things like Marvel Cave and the Saloon show, etc. The cave was closed due to the excessive water on the walkways so we took in a Cowgirl Chicks show--girls who did stunts on horses. By the time that show ended, the rain had too, so the kids rode all their rides and then we took in the Mine Ride and the Train. After the train, we rode Thunderation (roller coaster)--as we hit the lines to board the ride, it began to POUR! Fun to ride in the rain, but we were so wet afterwards! :o) We breezed through Grandfather's Mansion and decided it was time to go and get dry! We enjoyed a great dinner at Chili's and headed home....in the rain! It was wet, but it was fun!
All of us in our Ponchos. Kaydley and Deric put theirs on right after this picture.
