Reading Rewards

Trevor has worked so hard this year on his reading. I've posted both last year and this year about the reading incentive program his school has in place. (Each book has a certain point value and reading level. Each student reads books based on their level and point value, once they've read the book, they take a comprehension test and their points are determined based on the test results. They accumulate the points from the tests. Most of the books are 1/2 point-2points). He's really excelled in this program. Last year, in first grade, he worked really hard to make it to the 75 point club and earned a place in the swimming party as a reward. He really wanted the coveted 125 pt club trophy, but we did good getting to the 75 points!! This year, he knew what to expect and what was in store. He quickly passed the previous point marks and reached the 125 point club, the highest "level" you can reach! As a reward, he not only earned another spot in the swimming party (which will take place this last week of school), but he also earned the trophy he's wanted!! A special luncheon was held for all of the 125 pt readers for the 4th quarter, where Trevor received his trophy. He was so proud! We are so proud of all of his hard work and most importantly, his love of reading!!
