Christmas Recap

Hope everyone had a great Christmas...we sure did. We went to my parents house Christmas Eve around noon. We found out as we arrived, mom and dad's oven went out. We had a list of things we were going to cook, including our traditional coffee cake on Christmas morning. We "borrowed" one of dad's pharmacy employees' oven to bake our food up and we reheated it in the microwave Christmas day. It was such a nice time together as family. Trevor had lots of "reindeer food" to sprinkle outside. (it's oatmeal and glitter--the glitter attracts the reindeer and the eat the oats) Trevor was really excited for santa to come--he wanted to sleep on the couch so he could see him. Most of us stayed in our pjs all day--so nice and relaxing. The big gift was a John Deere Gator for the boys. They had a lot of fun driving it all over the farm. They picked up branches and stuff for Poppy. Mom, Libby and I went shopping Wed and found some good buys. Nathan and I headed home on Wed for some "date" time and the boys stayed at gamma and poppy's for a few days. We enjoyed dinners out, watching movies "loudly" and shopping for shoes w/o the boys! :-) We picked up the boys Friday and were home for a day together before heading to Nathan's dad's house for Christmas with them. We stayed Sat into Sunday and had fun riding the 4-wheeler and seeing the cows at grandpa Jim's. Nathan's brother, Joe and his family came down Sunday and we all went to Silver Dollar City (on the last day of the season). It was SO pretty. We arrived just in time for their light parade and for the big tree in the city square to light up and "dance" to music from Polar Express (one of our favorite Christmas movies). We had a long ride home, but were glad to wake up in our beds.....Trevor said, "mommy, I was in the car and then in my bed!" We have enjoyed a nice, relaxing New Year's here at the house. We finished cleaning up the back yard of branches from the ice storm and playing with Nathan's old Atari. We brought it home from his dad's house and it's been fun to play Centipede, Pac-Man, Frogger, etc. We got a Pac-Man game (it's a joystick and game all in one) and Trevor had just loved it. He's so fast and really enjoys playing with it. I think he'd going to be our tech boy! It's hard to believe it's already 2008! We hope you have a great 2008! Here are some pictures, I'll post more later.
