We took a trip to Branson Saturday to view the flooding and see the floodgates open at Table Rock Dam. The boys love seeing water and we figured it was worth the long trip to see some really big water and a "once in a great while" thing with the floodgates open. Brandon Landing--the new section of shops and restraunts downtown was partly flooded--mostly their walkways by the water. We passed over a residential section of Branson/Hollister along Lake Taneycomco that was overcome by waters....up to the windows on some homes. Then we headed out to Table Rock Lake and looked at the Dam and the spillways. Here are some of our pictures.

Table Rock Dam spillways open--10 gates open 1.5 feet each. They can open to 32 feet.

Homes along Lake Taneycomo--it's not the best picture but we were driving over a bridge and my memory card was full. I had to take what I could get. There was a better shot just behind these homes. These poor people.

Wow! It was interesting to see the pix of Branson, remembering how pretty the area was on a summer afternoon last July! And, how high the water at the dam and bridge!
Like you, I feel badly for the people who have water coming into their homes and even those who have it in their yards. What messes to clean up!
Thanks for sharing and putting pictures to the TV and radio reports which we hear. Your part of the country has really had a turbulent several weeks, several months!
