In with the new...

After 15 years of use, my great-grandmother's kitchen table, our kitchen table, is being relieved of it's duties. It has served us well. For literally generations, it's been the center of fellowship with family and friends and seen me through college and 11 years of marriage. The table is still in great condition, despite it's age, however, it's not as sturdy as it needs to be for our extended family events. (Due to the age of the table, the extension legs are at the ends of the table and they are somewhat feeble in supporting the ends of the table, thus making it unsturdy.) My sweet grandma Peterson graciously blessed us with inheritance money and we decided purchasing a new kitchen table was a great way to spend it. After much searching, we found the right table. Just in time for thanksgiving, which will be at our house this year, this new table had plenty of room and support. Our dear old table will still be used in our basement. Though it may sit vacant for a spell as we finish our basement, it will become the center of fellowship once again for another generation.
Our "former" table. (I couldn't bring myself to type "old") :o)Our new table
