Christmas recap (one month later)

It's been one month (one month exactly today) since Christmas and I haven't posted anything on our time over the holidays! So, here we go. We went to my parents house the day before Christmas Eve to celebrate with Ross, Libby's fiance. We had chinese for dinner and lots of fun laughs. Christmas Eve, we enjoyed a lazy day around the house, and opened a few gifts that evening. The boys made sure to set out cookies and milk for Santa, as well as their reindeer food. We anticiapted a big winter storm all day--one that was originally going to just be some flurries that turned into several inches of snow, and one that kept changing as it got closer--just as we were ready to head off to bed, the storm began to show itself with some sleet. By Christmas morning, we had around 3-6 inches of snow and COLD wind! SO fun to actually have a WHITE CHRISTMAS! Christmas morning, we opened our stockings, ate our traditional coffee cake and then leisurely openened our presents. The boys both received gifts they really wanted: Trevor got a Nintendo DS (hand held video game player) and Cody got an Imaginext Batman Bat Cave. Our biggest gift was a Wii from Gumma and Poppy! We've had so much fun with it! We attempted to play in the snow, but the wind was so strong and so cold, we didn't stay out long. The next day, we headed back to Joplin to drop off our presents, and unload dirty clothes, only to repack and head down to Nathan's dad's house for the Herndon Christmas. Nathan's brother, Eric, his wife Christine and Blake were in from Utah for the holidays. It was so nice to visit with them! We haven't seen them since their wedding in April. We had a great time playing on and sledding with the four wheeler. (I posted some pics of that here earlier). We only stayed one day at Grandpa Jim's b/c Nathan needed to get back home to work on a paper for a Master's class. The boys went back up to Gumma and Poppy's for a couple of days--they had a blast! Nathan worked on his paper while I worked on taking the Christmas decorations down. It's always nice to do that w/o the kids. :o) We enjoyed a relaxing rest of our Christmas break.
