Family Slumber Party
This New Year's Day night was our 2nd annual Family Slumber Party in our living room. 2 years ago, during an ice storm, we pulled our mattresses out into the living room to keep warm sleeping. This made a real impact on the boys, they thought it was so much fun. So, we told them we'd do it again sometime for fun and last year on New Year's night, we did it again, deciding to make it a family tradition. The boys were so excited for it this year. We had pizza for dinner, got into our cozy jammies and assembled the mattresses and played the Wii and watched TV. We'd made a fire that evening and were looking forward to snuggling up together to sleep in front of the fire.....however, it was a little too warm! :o) So many nights, Nathan and I comment "How nice would it be to just sleep here in front of the fire....", and when we get too, it was almost uncomfortable! :o) But, it was still fun. (We amused ourselves at bedtime by playing "The Waltons" and saying goodnight to everyone. We explained the "Waltons" concept to the boys, and then a couple days later, saw a commercial on TV that showed the Walton's house and we heard them all saying goodnight.) Now, we are looking forward to next year's slumber party!
