Fall Fun

We had a busy weekend. Friday night was Madge T. James (Trevor's school) night at the Webb City football game. The kindergarten classes got to line up and "greet" the players as they entered the field. (They slapped hands) Trevor thought this was fun. We enjoyed the game...our first one since Trevor was 8 mos old! He did a lot better at this one! :-) Cody enjoyed himself too....he danced to the band and enjoyed watching the Cardinal mascot doing his thing. (Last week was open house for Trevor and to promote the MTJ night at the game, some of the football players were at the school. The mascot was there too and Cody had a lot of fun being silly with him.)

Saturday we did some stuff around the house....Nathan pulled up our culverts to better position them to recieve water. (We have had quite a year for record rains and in the six months that we've lived here our culverts have been washed out several times--most recently was a month ago just days after getting our circle drive and new culvert!) Trevor was his big helper. I planted tulip and daffodil bulbs....lots of hard work, but I am imagining it will be so pretty in the spring! :-) It was so hot Saturday! We are ready for more fall-like weather.

Saturday evening we met with Joe, Christy, Kaydley & Deric (Nathan's brother and family) & Christy's parents and went to Right Choices Corn Maze near Anderson, MO. It was a lot of fun. They have a corn maze, hay ride, corn cannon, hay tunnel, corn box (sand box filled with field corn), a big barn, swings, and pumpkins. WE did the corn maze--so much fun. The kids really liked it....in fact, Deric didn't want to leave! He's 2, so when his mom told him to "come on!" he said "NNNNOOO!!" :-) We did the corn maze at dusk....we heard it was fun to do in the dark...maybe next time. We took the hay ride to a bon fire. The fire was special--burning some left over ice storm limbs! They had marshmallows to roast--but no wet wipes! Sticky!!! The fire was huge and neat, but almost too hot to enjoy since it was about 70 degrees outside. We played in the corn box, did the slides (one was a plastic culvert tube cut in half--built into the hill--you used a burlap sack to slide down. THe other was a "roller slide"--you sat on pieces of plywood and rolled down on pvc pipe that turned as you went.) All the kids did that over and over. We swang on tire swings and Christy bought some pumpkins. We all decided to make it an annual trip! Looking forward to next year...hopefully cooler weather! :-)
