Free Wheelin'

Last night, Trevor and Nathan were going to ride bikes together in our cul-de-sac, per Trevor's request. However, pulling our bikes out for the first time since having been in "storage" for over a year we discovered a flat tire on Nathan's bike. He wasn't able to repair it, so we decided to work on ditching the training wheels on Trevor's bike. This is a task we have been attempting to accomplish for a few months now. He really loves to ride his bike and has become more daring, but just too reliant on the training wheels. (We have 4 neighbor boys around us who LOVE to ride their bikes and have been influencial in Trevor's bike riding) So, after some encouragement and reisitance from T, we prayed with Trevor....using his memory verses from his church class "Do not fear, God is with you" and "Put your hope in God". It took about 10 minutes of running next to him with one hand on the back of his seat to finally being able to let go. He did so good. Got a little frustrated, but was so excited when he realized he was really riding by himself! We are so proud of him!! He was so proud of himself! He didn't want to come in. It was dark as he learned....so the pictures I took are by the flash. That's the first thing he's going to want to do when he comes home from school today! However, it's rainy and very cool here today. But, as soon as the rain breaks, he'll be out there.

WOW! Great job, Trevor, making Sound Hounds and Cardinal Star! Wish I could be there to see your necklace and name on the wall! Keep up the good work at school! And, how great that you are now a "two wheeler"!!! I hope the rains quit so you can get back outside on your bike!
Hope you get your bike back in riding order soon, Nathan, so you can keep up with Trevor! :)
Love you all.........
