May the force be with you....
A few weeks ago Spike TV (on satellite/cable) began "Star Wars Sundays". Our boys have never seen the phenomenon that is Star Wars, so we thought this would be a good time to introduce them. Needless to say, they were bit. Especially Cody--who is at a stage where he feels compelled to act out every show or movie he sees. He didn't even sit through the movie b/c he was Darth Vader, Storm troopers and what not. Trevor has enough self control to restrain his excitement and act it out later, with his Hot Wheels. They were properly introduced to the movies with the originals first (Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi). We saw all three in one weekend as they were on Fri/Sat/Sun. The next SUnday, we watched Episode 1 and so forth. We should get to see IV again this weekend. It's been fun for Nathan and I too, as we have fond memories of the original 3 movies. We have enjoyed the first 3 too--as we've only seen them once in the theater. For nearly a month, Cody has walked around humming the Imperial March (what Darth Vader walks to). Nathan's birthday card from the boys was a Star Wars card that plays that song. We've heard it so much, I'm about ready to hide it! :-) I bought the boys a light saber at a garage sale this past weekend and they love it. The light sabers slept next to the boys the first night. I fear we've created a monster.
