We participate in Parents As Teachers. Our parent educator is Miss Shelley. Every year, she tests Cody to get a feel for his skills and learning, etc. It's very informal and she usually does it in our home. It's the same test that's used in Kindergarten screening. Today was Cody's test. He did really well. Still need work on developing fine motor skills--like writing--but other than that, he scored really well. We have chosen to keep Cody home one more year instead of starting Kindergarten at 5. (He will turn 5 in July and just make the July 31 cut-off date.) We feel it's in his best interest to give him one more year. It was neat today, to watch him answer the questions she asked and see how he would complete a task. After she left, we had this conversation:
Mommy: Cody, you did such a good job with Miss Shelley today! I'm so proud of you!
Cody: Yeah, and I'm so proud of Jesus for helping me out!
