Big Wheel Day

Every March, Cody's preschool has Big Wheel Day. They turn their gym into a mini-city and all the kids bring their big wheels or tricycles and ride around. They can go to the bank, McDonald's, the grocery store, the car wash, be on TV, the beauty salon, dress-up, the wood shop, etc. SO FUN!!! I loved this day with Trevor! I was so excited to see how Cody would like it and to my surprise he was rather subdued at the entire thing. He did have fun and visited several places....he favorite being the car wash. They had some squirt bottles and sponges so you could wash your "car". They ask parents to volunteer at the various "businesses". Cody really liked the dad who helped at the car wash, b/c he was giving the "cars" that stopped a "tune-up". Cody and another boy became his helpers. Each child is given a driver's license and play money to spend at various locations. They even have some real policmen come and walk around, and they give tickets to "speeders". :o) About halfway through, they called a couple of the classes into the "Drive-In". They sat on their big wheels and ate popcorn while they watched a cartoon. It was such a fun morning!

The shelves are stocked with empty boxes and containers. And the checkout stand actually beeps when you "scan" the item! I would have loved that!
