What kind of God do you serve?
Sunday morning over breakfast, Nathan decided to start a devotional we got at church on Obedience. (The kids church has "virtues" every month and devotionals to go along with that) The bible story was Adam and Eve and the serpent in the garden. Nathan read the story and the boys "listened" as well as 7 and 4 year-olds can. :o) After he read the bible story, he asked some questions hoping to relay the point of "obeying". Most of their answers were "Jesus"! (As we know from teaching in the children's area before, most kids feel you can never go wrong with the answer "Jesus".) :o) Nathan reworded his questions and they caught on more. Trevor had heard this story recently and was impressed at the "flaming sword" that God put at the entrance to the garden. He'd mentioned it to Nathan recently and so Nathan asked "Why did God put the flaming sword up in the garden?" Cody replied "To cut their necks off!" Bless his heart, Nathan told him no, that's not why--with such a straight face, but then he caught my eye and we lost it!! Oh the sweetness of little boys!!
