Grandma Peterson

My grandma Peterson passed away this afternoon, Saturday, March 1, about 4:45pm. She was peaceful the last couple of days and as the nurses in her Hospice House went to turn her, she took her last breath. My mom and Aunt Linda were visiting with my cousin, Kevin, who had flown in today to visit with Grandma and his uncle that lives in IA when Grandma passed. My great-grandma Johnson, Grandma Peterson's mother, had 5 children, who had been at her beside day and night as she was getting ready to pass. They had stepped out to dinner when she decided to go home to Jesus and that has been a bit of a family "funny". Mom remarked to me this afternoon when she told me about Grandma that she "pulled a grandma Johnson", as mom and Aunt Linda were out of the room. They have not left her side since she went into the hospital on Feb 17 and since she moved into the Hospice House earlier this week. I am so thankful for my grandma. She was so special and so much fun. She would spoil us rotten when we visited with her....lots of hugs and kisses and fun little grandma things. One of the fun things about going to grandma's house was getting to have as many ice cream bars as I wanted! :-) I wonder this afternoon, just what Grandma is doing now....reunited with her husband, her daughter, and her siblings and parents who have all gone before her....but most of all, she has met her Savior, Jesus Christ, face-to-face!! If we could just have a glimpse at what she has seen....... :-) Please pray for our family...although this was "expected" it is still a loss. We will also be traveling to Omaha for the funeral. We are thinking it will be Tuesday. Also, pray for our health...that no one gets sick and that Aunt Linda and mom can get some MUCH NEEDED rest. Aunt Linda has been "sleeping" in the hospital cots and chairs since Feb 17 and mom since Feb 21. Thank you!

Praise the Lord for your safe travel to Omaha and home again...and time to share with family together - the life and home-going of our special and blessed grandmother and Mom. Thanks for your wonderful blog tributes and prayer requests. Praise the Lord that we know where Grandma is, that she was lovingly welcomed and folded in the arms of Jesus... and that we will all be together again some day!
I have caught up on your blogs..I have gotten far behind with all the events of recents weeks. Love hearing about the snow, Trevor's birthday, the "clean" closet and happenings at the Herndons.
Love to you all....Aunt Linda
