Spring Break re-cap (lots of pictures)

What a week.....aside from a couple bouts with sickness, it was a really nice week and a nice break from the hustle and bustle that has become our weekly routine. The rainy beginning gave way to warm, windy and sunny days that allowed us some fun time outisde. (See posts below.) However, the rain also caused lots of flooding around the area. Joplin rec'd 5 inches and sout of us, got about 7-9! We love to go look at the flooded rivers. I'm including some pictures of Shoal Creek, which runs along South Joplin. We enjoy going to see the Grand Falls along Shoal Creek in the summer and were amazed last Wed at the amount of water on the Falls--you coudn't even see the "falls" for all the water.

We stayed home for the week, only making a trip down to Grandpa Jim and Miss Sandra's house on Saturday to bid farewell to Uncle Eric as he prepares to head out to AR for the summer. It was a great day--it started out warm and then turned cold, but not before we got a chance to hunt for Easter eggs in Grandpa Jim's yard and feed his cows! Miss Sandra had some Easter bags filled with fun treats and a recorder that all the kids had fun blowing on! :-)

Our Easter Sunday was really nice--we had an egg hunt in our house before breakfast and then went to church and had our Sunday afternoon naps! Ahhh! That was much needed after such a busy Saturday. We had another egg hunt outside after our nap--but it was so cool that we didn't stay out long. Trevor was ready to go back to school this morning, and to be honest, I was ready too! It's great having him home, but the bickering between him and Cody was about to drive me nuts! Too much time together!! :-) Enjoy the pics!
The Grand Falls--usually, you can see huge rocks causing "the falls"--they are under the rapidly moving water.
The sign indicates you can't drive across the low-water bridge--that's under water.
This is at a road that looks across what is the low-water bridge to cross over Shoal Creek.
