Why is it kids always get sick in the middle of the night? Seems it's Murphy's Law. Cody woke me up at 2:30 Saturday morning and said "I spilled"--the smell said otherwise. Bless his heart. He had a stomach virus. He is much better today and we are hoping he's the only target. It's spring break week. It's a dreary day here ....kind of rainy, but overcast. They're calling for 100% chance of rain off and on all day and some tomorrow. Looks like the rest of the week will get better. When it's spring break, you just want nice warm, sunny days.
Nothing much else has gone on. Trevor has been doing really well in school... they are starting spelling tests now and he got 100% on the first one. He also reached "Word Bird" status--knowing all sight words. He also became a "rookie reader" by reading 25 books--which earned him lunch with his teacher. He's now working on a list of books for reading comprehension. (I know, it's kindergarten!! We never did this when I was that age.) He passed the first two tests on the first two books he read. (He gets a book from school that he reads several times until we feel he's ready to test on it and then he's asked questions about the book/story. If he passes, he moves on to another book, if not, he keeps reading until he tests again and passes.)
We are expecting asphalt on our driveway this week!! We're excited. We didn't do it as we built b/c the trucks and heavy equipment while building would have damaged it, and we needed to save up for it--it costs a lot more than we expected. We "celebrated" our one year anniversary of moving into our house yesterday!! A year ago today we were unpacking......there are some areas, I don't know if I really got that accomplished! :-)
This has been somewhat of a boring blog, but with both boys home with me all week.....there's bound to be some action! More later!!
