Wise Cody Is.....

We drive past a cemetery on the way to church. Nearly every Sunday since my grandma passed away in March, the boys have made some comment referrencing my grandma as we pass the cemetery. (She is buried in Omaha, Nebraska) Cody made a comment about Grandma "Peerson" (Peterson) is in there.... Trevor corrected him in a tone that made it clear he's already made this point before: "No, Cody. Grandma Peterson is not there. She's in Omaha." Cody then talks about how "Yeah, she's in 'the box'". (That's the casket....) ;o) Then he switched it up a bit and began talking about how Grandma Peeron isn't dead, she's at Kaydley's house. **Let me pause a moment and explain this....Kaydley is our neice. Her great-grandma is at their house occasionally when we visit. For some reason, the boys have associated her with my grandma. In fact, on the 4th of July, the boys ran ahead of us into the house and Cody came rushing back and with great excitement, pointed to "great-grandma" and exclaimed "Bubby!! She's not dead!! Grandma Peterson's not dead!! She's alive!! See??!!?" :o) We have explained many times that's not Great Grandma Peterson b/c she's with Jesus now. The funny part is, other than her age and the fact that she sits most of the time, she doesn't resemble my grandma much at all! :o) Thus, back to the original story....Cody was talking about Kaydley's great-grandma and still referring to her at GGPeterson. Trevor, once again, in his exhasperated tone, informs Cody--"No Cody, that's NOT grandma Peterson. She's not at Kaydley's. She's with Jesus. That's Kaydley's great-grandma....she's just old." So, Cody pauses a quick minute and states: "Yeah....she's....she's old...(another pause).....like Yoda." :o) We can't wait to tell that to my sister-in-law Christy...... :o)

Oh dear......he is certainly your child, Stephanie, referencing a movie character at such a young age. That is too cute! I can just picture that whole exchange between Trevor and Cody.

How sweet! How precious that at such a young age, GGPeerson holds a special place in their memories and hearts. And how wonderful that we can all know that she is with Jesus! It's great that you "record" these special memories to enjoy when the little guys are no longer little!
Love you all.............
