Afternoon fishing

Sunday afternoon, we drove to Kellog Lake in Carthage for some fishing. The boys were so excited, but thought we would be canoeing, I think. Bless their hearts--they put on their swim trunks and everything. :-) They still had a good time. Trevor did a great job casting "far" into the lake and Cody....well, he doesn't have as much experience as Trevor. :-) Nathan got a couple of nibbles and tugs but they always got away! We saw one of the fish jump up out of the water, perhaps as he got off the hook and another one broke the fishing line in two, taking the hook and worm lure with him. We saw a family of ducks that swam very close to us, we think they were anticipating bread. (Next time we'll know better to bring some.) We also saw a lizard sunning itself on a rock. It was a beautiful spot in the shade and such a nice afternoon activity. We will definitely go back. (Nathan's excited b/c they have bass and it's close by!)

Loved the fishing picture. Made me think that Grandpa Peterson would have loved to have shared the afternoon fishing with the Herndon guys!....And, of course, Grandma Peterson would have been taking pictures! Great to hear about the fishing fun and see the wonderful pix!
Love you all....
