Cocoa's "new" home

Cocoa is now living at the Ward farm. It was a tough decision, but we think it was the right decision, at least for now. Cocoa is a great dog....very loving and smart. Some of our neighbor boys began taunting her when they were outside playing about two months ago. She got along fine with everyone until they began this. We warned the boys to stop and were unaware of some of their actions. Most of it was lunging at her until she barked. So, within the last month and a half, anytime they came near, she would run at them barking. Right after school got out we got a couple of phone calls from the neighbor boys' parents complaining about Cocoa's barking at their kids. We explained the reason behind her barking--of which they were unaware--and agreed that we would try to find a solution. We contemplated an in-ground electric fence and even purchased one, but realized that would not curb her attitude towards the boys. That combined with the expense and work of installing the fence, we came to the decision that we needed to find an alternate solution. Perhaps it was best if we found Cocoa a new home. We asked mom and dad if they would be interested in her and they said yes with no hesitation. We felt Cocoa would enjoy the spacious yard to run and explore w/o having to worry about taking someone else's stuff. (We could open a pawn shop with all that she's taken, I mean, found.) :-) She seems to be doing well. She's really taken to dad. It's hard for us--we do miss her--but we know that she's at a good place, where we still get to see her.
