Fall Fun

Saturday we headed to the Right Choices Corn Maze with Nana and Uncle Joe, Aunt Christy and the kids. We went for the first time last year and enjoyed it so much, we decided we'd make it an annual event. We couldn't have picked a nicer weekend...the weather was spectacular. Very fall-like! It got a bit cool in the evening, but so nice. (Last year, the kids were in shorts and we were sweating...it was humid and warm! Not really fall-festivities weather!) The trees are just on the verge of being in full swing here, so it was a scenic drive down. We rode the slides, played in the corn box (like a sand box only it's full of field corn) and let the kids ride on the cow train. We took a long hay ride pulled by an old "johnny-popper" John Deere tractor. It was a crank start! The driver guesstimates it to be 1940ish.... Really fun. We saw some pretty trees and remnants of the spring and summer flooding we had. We even saw a deer!! It was dusk by the time we finished the hay ride and we headed to the corn maze. We took the short trip--and that was best--we were all so hungry! :-) The kids had a blast running through the corn, trying to figure out which direction to go. It was so much fun! After the corn maze, we headed to Noel, MO to eat at Cotten-Eyed Joe's--they have great brisket. A full day and lots of fun! We will definitely go back next year.
