Trevor's "Wilson"

God answers prayers, my friends. Just last Friday, Trevor told me he wanted a balloon friend. That's a really long story, but here's the short of it....Cody had a Spiderman balloon-man he got at a craft show and Trevor played with it and popped it. His explanation was he wanted a balloon friend to be like Spongebob--who has a bubble friend. Oooookkkaaayyyy......??? :-) Sunday morning when I picked Trevor up from his class at church, he excitedly showed me his new balloon friend! ALl the kids had one...it wasn't just Trevor. He said he was going to draw a face on him. As he did, he and Nathan decided this was Trevor's "Wilson". Referring of course, to the movie Cast Away, where Tom Hanks is stranded on a desert island and after cutting his hand throws a washed up volleyball, only to see a "face" in the handprint. He named the volleyball, Wilson and he quickly became a "friend" to him. The boys have watched Cast Away with us a few times (after the crash and we turn the channel in a couple of parts). So, Trevor was familiar with the Wilson reference and enjoyed it. I was afraid that Wilson might not be with us long...you know how balloons are, but Wilson is still going strong nearly a week later!

The "real" Wilson from Cast Away.
