Funnies from the boys

Lately, when Cody is telling a story, he will say "Me--Trevor-and-Cody--we......" I don't know why, he needs to say his own name...but he always does.

Both boys learned about fire safety at school over the last couple of weeks. They were discussing what they'd learned on the way to school and comparing notes about leaving toys behind. Conversation stopped momentarily to take Trevor into school and when we got back to the car, Cody says, "Mommy, you have to leave your toy box with all the toys in it. And they will catch on fire and turn to a pile of black stuff."

Just this week, after a struggle at the dinner table to eat a bite of roast, Cody was upset and asked to leave the table until he could calm down. He went to his room and grabbed his "blankies" and headed for the front door. We heard him open the door and Nathan questioned what he was doing, Cody responded, "I want to go to another house." That was all he kept saying. We made him sad and he wanted "another house". I think we had our first experience with running away! :-)

Trevor's funny this week is telling me "I'm so impressed". "Mom, I was so impressed...." I have no idea where that word came from?! :-) He is really improving in his reading. He's gotten very good at doing his homework in the afternoon, so he has all evening to play. He is really proud of himself for his accomplishments too. He has also become a great helper...taking it upon himself to clean up the toys, etc outside--without asking! If only he would do that inside--and ALL the time! ;-)

Both boys have had the best time over the past year with their John Deere Gator they got for Christmas from Gumma and Poppy. They ride all over and have all kinds of adventures. Lately, they have been riding in the Gator, pulling the push broom behind them to clean up all the leaves in the driveway. :-) This week, they began collecting the leaves in the back of the Gator and moved them to the backyard and their playhouse. So cute!
